Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American chef television personality and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host who has spiky blond wigs and a pumped-up personality, explains how you can cook dishes that are restaurant quality at home, using easy methods. Chef Burrell has worked for a time in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary tradition and its environment. Additionally, she competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. When she was a kid in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. After obtaining an English and Communications degree in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the business of restaurant by enroling at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was a fantastic learning experience. I was unable to learn enough, didn't achieve enough and couldn't push myself enough. After graduating, Burrell spent one year studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and worked in Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as and Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, which is a Michelin-starred establishment. In Italy, she developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian cuisine and its culture. It has had a profound impact on the way that Burrell cooks. Burrell was a Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board members, which strives to increase living conditions for kids who are facing difficulties. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation (JDRF) celebrity ambassador, and is a vocal advocate for awareness of children's diabetes. In her capacity as a speaker, she makes trips across the country to share her passion for food and her culinary career. Anne always felt fortunate that she was able to share her passion that she had for cooking with others.
